Renewed protests in Qalansuwa against house demolition

Tuesday 26-February-2019

Dozens of Palestinians on Monday demonstrated in Qalansuwa in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1948 in protest at the Israeli house demolition campaign targeting the city.

The demonstrators closed the main entrance to the city and chanted slogans condemning Israel’s demolition policy and demanding a radical solution to the issue.

The Israeli police assaulted the protesters and arrested the Palestinian citizen Ashraf Abu Ali whose home is threatened with demolition.

The Israeli authorities have lately ordered the demolition of three Palestinian homes in Qalansuwa owned by Mohammed Oudeh Ismail Wawiyya and Abdulhakim Hammouda.

An Israeli court last week ruled for freezing the demolition order for 10 days until a final decision is made.
