Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq has congratulated the Turkish people and their leadership over the successful holding of their referendum on constitutional amendments.
“We will continue to cheer Turkey and support the choices of its great people” Resheq said on his Twitter page on Sunday.
“We congratulate Turkey its president Recep Tayyip Erdogan its prime minister Ali Yildirim and the leadership of its political parties on their successful referendum on constitutional amendments” he added.
“Regardless of yes or no Turkey has achieved today a new victory and a major step on the road to progress and prosperity” the Hamas official underlined.
According to Anadolu Agency preliminary results showed that 51.21 percent of Turks said yes to constitutional amendments and 48.79 percent said no. The yes campaign won 1146546 more votes than the no campaign.
