Resheq slams PLO for holding PNC without Hamas Islamic Jihad

Thursday 8-March-2018

Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ezzat al-Resheq said that calling on the Palestinian National Council (PNC) to convene without inviting Hamas and Islamic Jihad Movements strikes the efforts of the Palestinian reconciliation and strengthens the division.

In a Tweet on Thursday Resheq opined that this move reduces the chance to elect a new council that would represent all factions and would be able to confront the “deal of the century” as well as the other attempts to liquidate the Palestinian Question.

During a meeting headed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) decided on Wednesday to hold the PNC on April 30 2018.

The PLO’s decision ran contrary to what was agreed on by the PNC’s preparatory committee on January 2017 in Beirut which stipulated holding the meeting with presence of all Palestinian factions according to Cairo Agreement 2005.
