The Administrative Court in Gaza has overturned the decision made by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to form a constitutional court.
The court said Abbas’s resolution is null and void because of the expiration of the President’s four-year term as specified in the Basic Law which has finished 8 years ago. Abbas has no power to issue such a decree the court highlighted.
The Palestinian Attorney General Ismail Jabr said that by the issuance of this ruling any judgment made by the constitutional court would be considered null and void.
