Head of the Supreme Islamic Commission and Imam of holy al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ekrema Sabri slammed on Thursday the Israeli minister of agriculture Uri Ariel for attempting to change the name of al-Maghareba Gate at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.
Sheikh Sabri warned of underway Israeli attempts to alter the name of al-Maghareba Gate into Hallel Gate which he said are signs of Israeli intents to hold sway over al-Aqsa Mosque and wipe out its Islamic idiosyncrasy.
“However none of such attempts will give the Israelis sovereignty over al-Aqsa Mosque” said Sabri.
On Thursday morning hordes of Israeli settlers led by Jerusalem’s police chief stormed al-Aqsa Mosque—Muslims’ third holiest site—via the Maghareba Gate.
