Tuesday 29-December-2020

Jewish settlers attacked Palestinians’ vehicles near the town of Huwara south of Nablus on Monday evening.

Local sources reported that several settlers attacked citizens’ vehicles with stones near the roundabout leading to Nablus-Qalqilya street on the outskirts of Huwara without any injuries reported.

The towns and villages south of Nablus especially Madma Burin Asira al-Qibliya Urif and Hawara are under constant attacks by Yitzhar settlers.

The most violent attacks against citizens in the villages of Nablus are launched from Yitzhar and a group was launched from this settlement called youth of the hills. This group of settlers committed several crimes including burning the Dawabsha family home killing citizen Aisha al-Rabi burning mosques and vehicles and writing racists slogans on the walls of homes.

Yitzhar settlement is also linked to several large streets and bypass roads through which Palestinian citizens are prevented from passing through or even reaching these roads.

Yasser Mansour a member in the Palestinian Legislative Council called for a serious and strong stand by all Palestinians and the formation of protection committees to defend the land from settlers.

Mansour stressed the importance of activating the popular resistance that was agreed upon at the meeting of the Secretaries-General of the Palestinian factions to confront the settlement activity.

He also called on the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities to defend the land and the people in the West Bank establish an infrastructure that enables citizens to access their lands and providing services and housing projects to enhance the steadfastness of citizens.

Recently settler attacks have escalated against Palestinian citizens and their property in most areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem targeting cars homes lands and crops in addition to razing farms and establishing settlement outposts on citizens’ lands.
