A group of Jewish settlers have placed mobile homes on land belonging to Jalud village near the illegal settlement of Shvut Rachel in Nablus province.
Palestinian Authority official Ghassan Dughlas who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank said on Monday that the settlers set up 10 prefabricated homes in al-Khafafish area of Jalud village under military protection.
Dughlas described the settlers’ step as “a prelude to expanding Shvut Rachel settlement.”
He also added that Israeli bulldozers embarked a few days ago on leveling more land in a nearby area to prepare it for the building of the new settlement called Amichai.
