Six Palestinian prisoners diagnosed with cancer

Six Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails were diagnosed with cancer in less than a year the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) revealed on Thursday.

There is an increase in the number of prisoners diagnosed with cancer in Israeli jails the PPS pointed out saying that six cancer cases were reported between August 2021 and June 2022.

The six Palestinians diagnosed with cancer include Nasser Abu Hamid Iyad Nazir Omar Jamal Amr Mahmoud Abu Warda Musa Soufan and Shadi Gwadra.

The total number of Palestinian prisoners suffering different tumors in Israeli jails has increased to reach 23.

600 sick prisoners are currently held in Israeli jails including 200 suffering chronic diseases.

The number of prisoners martyred in Israeli prisons has risen to 227 martyrs since 1967 including 72 prisoners who died as a result of deliberate medical negligence.

There are some 4600 Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons including 31 women 172 children 682 administrative detainees.
