Soldiers raid homes in Qabatiya clash with young men

Violent clashes broke out at dawn Sunday between Israeli soldiers and local young men in Qabatiya town south of Jenin after the latter carried out raids on homes.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that about 60 soldiers from an Israeli infantry unit stormed the town at 2:30 am and were deployed in al-Saba’neh neighborhood where they raided homes of citizens.

They added that the soldiers ransacked the homes and locked up the residents of each house inside rooms.

They also reported seeing snipers at the windows of some homes.

Soldiers also spread near Abul-Abed coffee shop and al-Ashab store where they fired bullets as well as volleys of tear gas and stun grenades at angry young men.

Attacks on soldiers with homemade bombs reportedly happened in Saba’neh neighborhood.

Several citizens were stopped and interrogated by soldiers on the main street of the town.

The military force also broke into homes in other parts of the town with no reported arrests.
