Switzerland has expressed its readiness to help Egypt and the Palestinian parties complete the integration of the public sector employees in Gaza.
In a statement issued on Monday Switzerland called on the Palestinian Authority to act swiftly to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza particularly with regard to electricity health water sanitation and environment.
Switzerland welcomed the reconciliation agreement signed on October 12 between Hamas and Fatah describing it as “an important step towards achieving unity under a single legitimate and democratic Palestinian national authority.”
It also hailed the smooth handover of control over the Gaza crossings to the Palestinian government in early November expressing hope that the Rafah crossing with Egypt would be reopened on Wednesday.
