Tens of thousands of Muslims head for Aqsa Mosque

Friday 8-June-2018

Tens of Thousands of worshipers from territories occupied in 1948 and the West Bank have flocked to occupied Jerusalem since predawn time to perform Ramadan’s Friday prayers at the Aqsa Mosque—the third holiest site in Islam.

Israeli soldiers deployed at Qalandiya Checkpoint prevented Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and aged below 40-years-old from passing through the checkpoint to pray at al-Aqsa Mosque.

Dozens of worshipers were forced to climb over Jerusalem’s walls to reach their destination.

Meanwhile Israeli forces deployed around Occupied Jerusalem have prevented thousands of Palestinians from coming with the reach of the Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli army also closed off the main access roads out of and into Jerusalem’s Old City.

Thousands of Palestinians are expected to take to the streets following Friday’s noon prayers to join the Quds International Day rallies marking Israel’s takeover of the holy city in 1967.
