A state of high tension has been prevailing in Ashkelon jail since Israeli special forces last Tuesday stormed one of its sections and assaulted Palestinian prisoners.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs Israeli soldiers raided section 3 of the prison ransacked its cells maltreated and physically assaulted the prisoners in there.
The administration of Ashkelon also took several punitive measures against the prisoners in this section. Six prisoners were also sent to isolation cells.
The raid on that section started at dawn Tuesday and lasted for many hours.
