Israeli special forces stormed on Tuesday Palestinian prisoner’ cells in section 22 in Ofer prison and conducted thorough searches.
The Prisoner Club said in a press statement that a state of tension has prevailed in the prisoners’ sections since the morning and the prisoners refused to eat their meals as a first step of protest.
Ofer prison where 850 Palestinians are detained has witnessed violent raids against the prisoner’ cells since the beginning of this year.
Moreover one of the prisoners Imad Abdel Khaleq Abu Ramz 46 from al-Khalil had tested positive for testicular cancer.
This comes at a time when the number of prisoners infected with the coronavirus in the occupation prisons has increased to 135.
The number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons reached almost 4500 by the month of August 2020 of whom 41 are females nearly 140 children and 340 administrative detainees.
