Israeli special forces stormed on Monday morning Section 7 of Ramon Prison coinciding with a set of protest steps declared by Palestinian prisoners in several prison sections to demand the use of public phones in prison.
Prisoners Information Office affirmed that a violent and provocative search campaign was carried out in Section 7.
Earlier last week Palestinian prisoners declared a set of protest steps in Israeli prisons in demand of the use of public phones for female and sick prisoners.
Israeli prison authority used to prevent Palestinian prisoners from having phone calls with their families or to receive family visits under flimsy security pretexts.
Palestinian human rights groups have earlier raised concerns about Israel’s collective punishment against Palestinian prisoners following last September’s jailbreak from a high-security Israeli prison.
There are around 4650 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons including 34 women 160 children and 500 administrative detainees according to observers.
