Thousands of Israelis took to the streets in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening in a mass protest against government corruption targeting in particular Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family.
According to the Israeli daily Haaretz hundreds of protesters in Jerusalem called out “We deserve clean politics” while in Tel Aviv thousands chanted “Bibi Netanyahu go to Maasiyahu Prison”; protests were also held in Haifa Afula Rosh Pina and the Tzemach Junction.
Saturday night’s rallies also targeted Netanyahu’s son Yair after leaked footages revealed he attended strip clubs.
“Marches of shame” against corruption have been going on for weeks demanding that Netanyahu step down and serious investigations into corruption accusations be carried out.
