A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by head of its political bureau Ismail Haneyya arrived on Saturday in the Russian capital Moscow to hold talks with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and other top officials.
Haneyya has been accompanied by some members of the political bureau including his deputy Saleh al-Aruri.
According to Haneyya’s media advisor Taher an-Nunu this visit will last for several days and involve talks with Russian officials about the bilateral relations between Hamas and Russia and different issues related to the Palestinian cause.
Nunu said that the two sides would discuss a number of regional and international developments and their impacts on the Palestinian cause.
The Hamas delegation’s visit to Moscow has taken place as the Russian-Israeli relations are witnessing a growing tension due to the war in Ukraine.
