A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by its political bureau chief Ismail Haneyya has arrived in the Iranian capital Tehran on an official visit for several days.
The delegation which includes deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Saleh al-Aruri and senior officials Mousa Abu Marzouk and Ezzat al-Resheq met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and president Hasan Rouhani.
The delegation also attended on Monday the funeral ceremony of Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani who was assassinated with others in a US strike in Iraq last Friday.
Haneyya recently visited Egypt Turkey and Qatar as part of a regional tour to promote bilateral relations with the countries and rally support for the Palestinian cause.
The foreign tour is the first by Haneyya since he was elected political chief of the resistance group in 2017.
