Two Palestinians injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza

Two Palestinian citizens suffered injuries on Saturday evening in Israeli aerial and artillery attacks on the Gaza Strip a few hours after some Israeli soldiers were wounded when an explosive device was detonated at them as they were patrolling a border area inside Gaza.

A spokesman for the health ministry said that two citizens with moderate injuries arrived at the hospital of Abu Yousef Annajar in Rafah city adding that several ambulances were dispatched to the bombed area east of Rafah.

Earlier local sources said that the Israeli artillery bombed the areas of al-Shawka and al-Fakhari in the vicinity of the Sufa military post east of Rafah area in southern Gaza.

Several sites belonging to al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas were also targeted by the Israeli occupation army.

In a communiqué al-Qassam Brigades said its anti-aircraft defenses were used during Israeli air raids affirming its right to respond to Israel’s ongoing aggression against its citizens in Gaza.

In a related context the Hebrew media said that a Palestinian rocket landed near a house in Sha’ar Hanegev settlement which is located east of Gaza and caused some damage in the area.

Spokesman for the Israeli army Avichay Adraee claimed that six sites including a tunnel and training camps belonging to Hamas were targeted.

According to Palestinian local sources Israeli warplanes bombed two resistance sites known as Tunis and al-Yarmouk east of Gaza.

Airstrikes also targeted a resistance site belonging to al-Qassam Brigades in central Gaza and another one belonging to al-Quds Brigades the armed wing of Islamic Jihad east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

An agricultural land in Shuja’iyya neighborhood east of Gaza was also bombed in an aerial attack.
