Two injuries in anti-siege demonstrations east of Gaza Strip

Two Palestinian youths were injured and many others chocked on tear gas during demonstrations on Sunday evening in several flashpoints with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) east of the Gaza Strip in rejection of the siege.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that dozens of Palestinian youths gathered east of Khuza’a town in the southern Gaza Strip set tires on fire raised Palestinian flags and approached the security fence between the Gaza Strip and the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories.

They added that the IOF soldiers deployed behind the security fence fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at the demonstrators. A 21-year-old youth was injured with a bullet in the foot and a number of suffocation cases were reported in the scene.

In the same context dozens of Palestinian youths demonstrated near Nahal Oz military site east of al-Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza city and they were attacked by the IOF with live bullets and tear gas canisters.

According to a local source one of the youths was directly hit with a gas bomb and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The National Committee to Break the Siege and the youth movement called for daily demonstrations in the various points of contact with the Israeli occupation east of the Gaza Strip in rejection of the siege and in protest at the deteriorating humanitarian situation caused by the crises plaguing the Gaza Strip especially the electricity crisis.
