The General Union of UNRWA Employees on Sunday announced its decision to resume the peaceful strike held outside of the agency’s headquarters in Gaza.
A statement by UNRWA employees’ union said the move comes in response to UNRWA lay-offs against the agency’s staff members.
The union called on the Palestinian Authority President government Palestinian factions and all other concerned bodies to urgently step in and work on rehabilitating the employees’ rights.
A press conference is expected to be held on Wednesday over the latest development in this regard and projected protest moves over UNRWA’s recent measures.
