A high ranking US delegation is scheduled to visit Tel Aviv Ramallah Egypt and Jordan on Wednesday.
Israeli media sources claimed that the visit aims at deescalating the growing tension in the region.
The delegation includes the US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs Yael Lambert and the US State Department’s spokesman Hadi Amr.
The visit reflects the US concerns over further tension the sources added.
Earlier Tuesday US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke to Israeli Palestinian and Jordanian leaders to discuss recent violence in Israel and the West Bank that has escalated tensions in the region.
This came as tension continues to escalate after Israeli police gave green light to settlers’ break-ins and attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque and worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan.
