Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar has categorically denied that his Movement was asked to leave Qatar affirming that Hamas officials and figures travel from and to Doha at will.
In an interview conducted by Russia Today (RT) satellite channel on Tuesday Zahhar said that the relations between his Movement and Doha were never affected by the current political differences in the Gulf region.
The Hamas official also highlighted the relations between Gaza and Egypt saying the recent cooperation between the two sides is governed by the geographical contiguity and the deeply-rooted historical relationship between them.
He also denied that his Movement had a deal with former Fatah official Mahmoud Dahlan to address the economic problems in Gaza affirming that Palestinian lawmakers from Fatah which he described as the group of Dahlan were only allowed to play a humanitarian role in Gaza in their capacity as elected representatives of the Palestinian people at the legislative council.
