Jabalia streets are crowded with thousands of citizens

Sunday 12-November-2023

Palestinian activists circulated photos and videos of Jabalia streets and its market in the northern Gaza Strip which were filled with citizens on Sunday the 37th day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza. These videos refute the Israeli narrative that it has emptied northern Gaza of its residents.

The videos and photos showed numerous vendors displaying their goods while citizens including women men and children were shopping or strolling in the streets.

In one of the photos a young man is seen on a donkey cart that also carried a barrel of water on it filling gallons for the citizens at a time when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) cut off water supplies and destroyed water tanks leaving the citizens thirsty in a bid to force them to leave.

These images indicate that tens of thousands of citizens have chosen to stay and resist in their homes out of their own free will defying Israeli bombardment and the IOF attempts to force them into forced displacement.

After hours of Israeli shelling on a school in the northern Gaza Strip journalists published photos of hundreds of citizens taking refuge inside the school while their children played in the targeted area.

The citizens in the northern Gaza Strip warned of the dangers of repeating the Israeli narrative that the northern area is empty of residents emphasizing that hundreds of thousands of citizens remain in their homes and land and have not left.

They affirmed their determination to stay in their homes and reject the Israeli displacement plans pointing out that the IOF continues to bombard areas it claims to be safe resulting in thousands of martyrs including hundreds of displaced persons.

Some citizens mentioned that they had already fled to the southern Gaza Strip but returned to their homes in the north as the shelling intensified in the south before the IOF cut off the road and separated the southern part of the Strip from the city of Gaza and its north.

The occupation forces are stationed on Salah al-Din Road and allocate specific hours for the passage of displaced persons from Gaza and its north but they subject them to shelling and some undergo humiliating strip inspections.

Dozens of citizens have been martyred and others injured while trying to cross the road controlled by the IOF. The citizens are forced to walk on foot for a distance of more than 15 kilometers.
