Resistance is existence: 35 years on the Palestinian 1st Intifada

Between 1987 and 1993 Israel killed 1500+ Palestinians injured 12000+ and detained some 600000 others.

It was during the first Intifada (Uprising).

December 8 1987 was the official start of the Palestinian 1st Intifada when an Israeli truck ran over and killed 4 workers from Jabalia Refugee camp.
The crime triggered mass protests across occupied Palestine a time for Palestinians to say ENOUGH to the Israeli brutality.

Palestinian protesters were met with suppression and violence.

“Broken bones” was Israel’s tactic to quell the Palestinian people during the 1st intifada.

Ordered by the occupation’s government Israeli occupation forces systematically broke the limbs of protesters.

Imposing military curfews ranging from hours to months was yet another form of punishment against the Palestinian people.

For only using the word “Palestine” the Palestinians would be subjected to abuses or imprisonment.

With protesters resisting with only stones the first Intifada was called the uprising of stones.

Stones later became symbols of the Palestinian relentless struggle against Israeli oppression.

As long as Israel persists in its crimes the Palestinian people will never stop resistance the only solution to end the Israeli occupation.

Resistance is existence.
