Palestinian factions on Sunday commended the national reconciliation initiative launched by Hamas Movement by dissolving the Gaza administrative committee and calling on the Palestinian Authority (PA) government in Ramallah to start assuming its responsibilities in Gaza.
The factions in a statement asked Fatah Movement and the PA president Mahmoud Abbas to embrace the initiative firstly through issuing an immediate decision to cancel all the punitive measures previously imposed on the people of the Gaza Strip.
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas at dawn Sunday announced the dissolution of the administrative committee which the Movement formed in Gaza last March in response to the Egyptian efforts to end the Palestinian division.
The statement called for a national unity based on adherence to all Palestinian rights and stressed the need to establish a unified national strategy that involves all factions and adopts resistance as an essential approach in dealing with the Israeli occupation.
The Palestinian factions lauded the Egyptian leadership who has made tremendous efforts to bring views closer in order to achieve the reconciliation and bridge the Palestinian rift.
