A new victim of gas bombs fired by the Israeli military

Monday 18-February-2019

Most of what child Hassan Nabil Nofal 16 years old dreamed of was raising his pigeons and to live in peace among his family and friends who loved him but the fire of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) wasted his dream forever.

Once again a tear gas canister became a direct killing tool fired by Israeli soldiers at peaceful demonstrators. Last week two children were killed and dozens were wounded at the eastern outskirts of Gaza.

On November 12 Nofal died of wounds he sustained four days earlier when he was hit by a tear gas canister in the head during his presence to the east of al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Last farewell
Days before he was injured Hassan Nofal collected his clothes in a bag and told his mother to distribute them among the poor in the camp. The mother was surprised by his request and did so after his death.

Nabil Nofal the father of the martyr Hassan said that the occupation army does not care about the lives of children and civilians on the fence of the Gaza Strip.

He said: “My son was drinking a Coca-Cola away from the fence and he was hit in the head with a gas bomb that directly hit his body. Why did they kill him?”

Nofal’s father called on international human rights organizations to prosecute and punish the occupation that commits crimes against unarmed children at the Gaza fence.

“My son was an innocent child who loved people. He wished to live in a safe house and lead a normal life. I will not forget my son but he is with God. He has fallen victim to the crimes of the occupation” he added.

A friend and brothers
Nael Mahareb 17 was Nofal’s closest friend. He misses his repeated calls asking him to accompany him to the mass prayers.

“I lost a good friend who always had a smile on his face. He spent his time helping his father and praying at the mosque. Most of the time we were together peacefully participating in the Great March of Return but the Israeli soldiers deliberately killed him” he said.

Nofal told his friends that he intended to buy pigeons admiring their beautiful appearance before he was wounded but the fire of occupation destroyed his dreams forever.

People friends and residents of the Nusseirat refugee camp continue to attend to the funeral where the father Nabil Nofal feels proud of the martyrdom of his son Hasan who was deliberately killed by Israeli soldiers.

Yasser Nofal Hassan’s brother confirmed that his brother was obedient to his parents and was keen to please his father and help him in his business.

“My brother felt sad for the martyred child Montaser al-Baz who participated constantly in the Great March of Return but the Israeli soldiers killed him intentionally. I now miss my closest brother. He was always with me at home and at work.”

Despite being at the hospital since the day of his injury Nofal’s father realized the seriousness of his injury since the first moment he saw him and he tried for four days to prepare his wife and children for the sad news that may be revealed at any moment.

Mohammed Nofal another brother of Hassan remembers him calling him the store of his secrets at the same time where they used to share the same clothes.

He continues: “Since the moment of his injury I miss his presence at home. I call for a review of what is happening on the fence and I call on the resistance to respond to the aggression of the occupation.”
