Europeans for al-Quds group has strongly denounced Israeli intents to carry out mass demolition and displacement in the Palestinian neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Occupied Jerusalem describing such Israeli practices as “crimes amounting to ethnic cleansing.”
In a statement on Friday European for al-Quds said “it followed (with concern) a series of serious Israeli decisions regarding the demolition of dozens of Palestinian homes in east Jerusalem which threaten hundreds of individuals including women and children with forced displacement.”
The group stressed the need for immediate and urgent international intervention to stop such gross violations of human rights.
The group said it launched in cooperation with European lawmakers an initiative to urge their countries to take firm positions towards such Israeli measures that are aimed at imposing a unilateral fait accompli in the holy city.
