Growing concerns about Israeli attacks against Al-Aqsa Mosque

Wednesday 19-April-2023

As the holy month of Ramadan is coming to an end the concerns about new Israeli raids into the Al-Aqsa Mosque are growing.

Calls have been renewed on Palestinian citizens to continue mobilizing at the Al-Aqsa Mosque to defend it against the Israeli attacks and to preserve its Islamic and Arab identity.

Leader in Hamas Movement Hussein Abu Kwaik reiterated the importance of confronting the Israeli Judaization plans against the Al-Aqsa Mosque calling on Palestinian youths to intensify their presence at the holy site after the holy month of Ramadan.

Abu Kwaik also hailed Muslim worshippers for protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque in Ramadan calling on Muslim and Arab nations to assume their responsibility in defending the holy site.

For her part the Palestinian writer Lama Khater affirmed that the Israeli occupation is confused due to the considerable number of Palestinian worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.

Khater warned that Jewish settlers’ incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque would escalate following Ramadan adding that Israel will impose movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshippers.

She added that the Israeli plans to impose temporal and spatial division on the Al-Aqsa Mosque require continued Palestinian presence at the holy site.

Meanwhile Samira Halayqa a Hamas representative at the Palestinian Legislative Council in al-Khalil said that the situation at the Al-Aqsa Mosque would be more challenging after the holy month of Ramadan.

“Jewish settlers are expected to intensify their break-ins into the Al-Aqsa Mosque as the number of worshippers is declining after the holy month of Ramadan” Halayqa warned.

Earlier today the Israeli police stormed the sacred Dome of the Rock in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and removed Palestinian flags.
