Thousands of Muslim worshipers performed on Wednesday the first Fajr (dawn) prayer in the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan at the Aqsa Mosque.
According to local sources the Israeli occupation government decided not to allow Jewish settlers to enter the Mosque during the last 10 days of Ramadan following an assessment of the security situation.
Recently Jerusalemite activists urged their compatriots from across the occupied territories to march en masse to the Aqsa Mosque and perform I’tikaf (religious retreat) during the last days of Ramadan.
Meanwhile organizers of the Great Fajr Campaign called on the Palestinian masses to participate in the Fajr prayer next Friday April 14 in the Mosque’s courtyards.
The organizers stressed that the intensive Muslim presence at the Aqsa Mosque is important during the coming days.
