The Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has invited the head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya to visit Iran and meet its leadership.
Via a phone call on Friday the two senior officials exchanged congratulations on the advent of Eid al-Fitr and discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian situation.
Amir-Abdollahian praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and resistance reaffirming the centrality of the issue of Jerusalem.
He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the Israeli occupation’s violations and practices against the Palestinian people.
For his part Haneyya thanked the top Iranian diplomat for the phone call expressing his intention to visit Tehran in the near future.
Haneyya briefed Amir-Abdollahian on the crimes perpetrated by Israel in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
