Iran’s ministry of foreign affairs has issued a statement on the Palestinian Nakba Day when the Israeli occupation state started to emerge 75 years ago describing it as the “most tragic political and humanitarian crisis in the world during the past century.”
In a statement on Monday Iran called for adopting a democratic solution to the decades-long Palestinian question to ensure the return of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland through holding a referendum with the participation of all the indigenous people of Palestine to decide their future and determine the nature of their political system.
“The Nakba Day brings to mind one of the most painful catastrophes throughout human history when Israel was planted in the heart of the Islamic world and the strategic region of western Asia” the ministry said.
Its statement also outlined some of the crimes and practices which it described as “abhorrent” that had happened in Palestine since the establishment of the Israeli occupation state.
