The Hamas Movement held on Monday several bilateral meetings with officials of Palestinian factions to discuss ways to ensure the success of the meeting to be held in Cairo by the general secretaries of the factions at the end of July.
The meetings were held by a Hamas delegation led by deputy head of the political bureau Saleh al-Aruri.
The Hamas delegation’s meetings were held with high-level delegations from the Islamic Jihad Movement the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine &ndash General Command.
Head of Hamas’s national relations office Husam Badran for his part held consultations and made contacts with other factions and political forces.
According to a statement by Hamas Badran held meetings with a number of national and political figures including Jamil Mezher deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Mustafa al-Barghouthi secretary-general of the National Initiative.
During those meetings and consultations the Hamas officials highlighted the need on agreeing on national principles based on the comprehensive resistance of the Israeli occupation and called for closing the national ranks to confront the Israeli government and its policies.
Their meetings also included discussions about the Palestinian situation in general in light of the presence of an extremist Israeli government and growing aggression against the Palestinian people their land and holy sites.
