Dozens of Palestinian citizens on Monday rallied in Gaza to demand the release of the detained bodies of Palestinian martyrs.
The protestors marched before the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza City demanding the immediate release of the Palestinian martyrs&rsquo bodies withheld by Israel.
Meanwhile director general of the Ministry of Detainees Affairs Nabil Hijazi underlined that detaining the bodies of martyrs amounts to a war crime adding that 11 bodies of Palestinian prisoners are still withheld by the Israeli occupation.
Moreover the mother of martyr Mohammed Farwana Ahlam Farwana said that withholding martyrs&rsquo bodies constitutes a grave violation of international laws and conventions calling for releasing the body of her son to give him a proper burial.
Earlier on Sunday Palestinian citizens commemorated the National Day to retrieve the bodies of the martyrs.
According to the coordinator of the Palestinian National Campaign to Retrieve the Bodies of Martyrs Hussein Shejaiyyah Israel is withholding 398 Palestinian martyrs&rsquo bodies including 14 children five women and 11 prisoners.
