Hezbollah claimed to have fired at least 62 different types of missiles at the Israeli Meron air control base in the north of occupied Palestine on Saturday.

The group described the attack on the military post as a “preliminary response” to the assassination of deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Saleh al-Aruri in Beirut.

Aruri was killed last Tuesday in an Israeli drone strike on a Hamas office building in Beirut.

The Hebrew media described today’s rocket barrage as one of the heaviest in recent weeks. A few days ago, Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah vowed that the killing of Aruri would not go “unpunished.”

“As part of the initial response to the crime of assassinating the great leader Sheikh Saleh al-Aruri … the Islamic resistance [Hezbollah] targeted the Meron air control base with 62 various types of missiles,” the Lebanese resistance group said in a statement on Saturday.

The Meron air surveillance base is located on the summit of Mount al-Jarmaq in northern occupied Palestine, the highest mountain peak in occupied Palestine.
