Israeli police officers rounded up ten Jerusalemites in the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday while celebrating the Isra’ wal Mi’raj anniversary.
Local sources said that the policemen arrested photographer Mohammed Abu Snene along with three others at Bab al-Silsila.
Eyewitnesses said that the police officers detained six young women including four minors from within the holy Islamic site and took them to a nearby police station.
Hundreds of Palestinians flocked to the Al-Aqsa Mosque despite the Israeli restrictions to celebrate the anniversary of the Isra’ wal Mi’raj, the Night Journey and Ascension of Prophet Mohammed, peace upon him, from Makkah to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and from there to the seven heavens.
