Around 100,000 Palestinian worshipers performed Taraweeh prayers on Friday at Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem, despite Israeli restrictions.

In a brief statement, the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said nearly 100,000 worshipers attended Taraweeh prayers at Aqsa Mosque on the second Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

Israeli forces imposed tight movement restrictions in the Old City, hindering access to the Mosque.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that the Israeli forces prevented its crews from entering the Aqsa courtyards to provide ambulance services and from establishing its field clinic in violation of international humanitarian law.

Taraweeh prayers are special night prayers that are performed during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Israel has restricted Palestinian worshipers’ access to Aqsa Mosque amid growing tensions across the occupied West Bank due to the Israeli army’s ongoing offensive on the Gaza Strip.
