The Palestinian resistance factions affirmed on Saturday that the commemoration of Land Day this year comes in the midst of the battle of the Al-Aqsa Flood, in which the resistance achieved a strategic transformation in its conflict with the Israeli occupation.

The battle revealed the fragility of the occupation’s position vis-à-vis Palestinian rights, the factions said, calling at the same time for confrontation with the occupation forces on all fronts.

The factions stressed the urgent need to immediately halt the Israeli aggression and end its genocidal war in Gaza.

The factions also expressed their rejection of any agreement or exchange deal with Israel without a comprehensive cessation of aggression, the return of refugees, the complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction, the lifting of the siege, the opening of crossings, and the entry of aid.

They added that the proposal by the Israeli officials about forming an international or Arab force for Gaza is mere talk, an illusion, and any force that enters the sector is rejected and unacceptable. It is an occupying force that will be dealt with according to this description, they warned.

The factions also praised the stance of the Arab countries that refused to participate and cooperate with that proposal.

They reiterated that the management of the Palestinian affairs is a national internal matter that none will be allowed to interfere in. “Any efforts to establish alternative administrations that disregard the will of the Palestinians are destined to fail from their inception,” they affirmed.

They emphasized that the people who rewrote history with their blood and steadfastness would not allow anyone to confiscate their will.

The factions called on the Palestinians, the Arab and Islamic masses, and the free people of the world to hold Israel accountable, isolate and resist it using all means possible.

The resistance factions concluded by reaffirming that Palestinian blood will remain a living witness to the greatness of the Palestinian land and the justice of its cause, and that the blood and sacrifices will be a curse haunting Israel, its collaborators, and all those who betray, and they will be the fuel for victory, freedom, independence, and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Today marks the 48th anniversary of Land Day, which came after the uprising of Palestinians in the occupied territories in 1948 against the policies of uprooting and Judaization pursued by Israel.

The events of Land Day, which the Palestinians commemorate with a series of activities, date back to March 30, 1976, when Palestinians rose up against the Israeli seizure of about 21,000 dunums of Palestinian village lands in the Galilee, including Arraba, Sakhnin, Deir Hanna, Arab al-Sawad, and others, in favor of establishing more Jewish-only settlements as part of the Judaization of the Galilee.

On that day, Palestinians declared a general strike, which Israeli police tried to break by force, leading to clashes that resulted in the martyrdom of six Palestinians and the injury and arrest of hundreds.
