14 years on Israel’s 2008 aggression on Gaza Strip

The 27th of December marks the 14th anniversary of the 2008 Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip. It was waged two years after Israel imposed an air land and sea blockade on the area.

On the morning of December 27 2008 Israeli warplanes carried out up to 100 airstrikes in various areas of the Gaza Strip killing about 200 Palestinians mostly police officers.

The devastating aggression which lasted for 23 days ended with 1409 Palestinians killed by Israeli missiles and artillery shells. 355 children and 111 women were among the victims.

The Israeli violent raids completely destroyed 2632 Palestinian homes and partially damaged 8522 others. Large numbers of industrial health educational and religious institutions were damaged by the bombing whether entirely or partially.
