Dozens of Gaza prisoners denied family visits in Israeli jails

A small batch of Gazan families was allowed access out of the besieged Gaza Strip on Monday to visit their relatives in the Israeli Ramon jail.

Spokeswoman for the International Red Cross Committee Suheer Zaqout said 24 Palestinians from the blockaded Gaza Strip among them three children headed for Ramon prison to visit 19 Palestinian detainees.

Over 6000 Palestinian prisoners are locked up in Israeli penitentiaries where they have been denied their basic human rights most notably the right to family visits.
