The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas strongly denounced on Sunday the mass break-ins carried out by more than a thousand Israeli settlers into Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque—the third holiest site in Islam—on the 51st anniversary of Israel’s occupation of east Jerusalem.
Hamas spokesman Abdulatif al-Kanou’ dubbed in a press statement the break-in as an act of Israeli vandalism carried out under a US cover.
He added that the assault represents a tension-rousing act of provocation against Arabs and Muslims and a blatant aggression against the nation’s holy sites.
He called on the Palestinians across the occupied territories to escalate protests and rallies near all flashpoints with the Israeli occupation so as to speak up against the unabated Israeli terrorism against the Palestinian land people and holy sites.
On Sunday morning over 1000 Israeli settlers stormed holy al-Aqsa Mosque via the Maghareba Gate and performed sacrilegious rituals sparking tension across Occupied Jerusalem among other occupied Palestinian territories.
