Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s supreme leader offered his sincere condolences to Javad Zarif the Iranian foreign minister on Saturday evening on the martyrdom of the nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
Haneyya condemned the sinful assassination crime expressing solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran. “The assassination reflects a criminal mentality that permits the blatant killing in broad daylight” he said.
Hamas’s leader stressed that the policy of assassination did not succeed with the resistance in Palestine and will fail with the Islamic Republic and the axis of resistance and the entire Islamic Nation. This policy only reflects the nature of those involved in it who violate all international and humanitarian laws and norms he added.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani accused in a speech broadcast on state television on Saturday Israel of assassinating the prominent Iranian scientist Fakhrizadeh while the Supreme Leader of the Republic Ali Khamenei called for “Inevitability of punishment” for those responsible for the assassination.
Religious and military leaders vowed to avenge the killing of Fakhrizadeh who died in hospital on Friday after gunmen shot him while he was in his car in Absard city in Damavand province east of Tehran.
The Iranian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that armed terrorist elements attacked a car carrying Fakhrizadeh on Friday afternoon after which he was seriously injured then died in hospital.
