Hundreds of Jordanians staged a sit-in near the Israeli embassy in the Rabbia area of the capital Amman on Friday evening in support of the al-Aqsa Mosque rejecting the practices of the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem and the police’s aggression against worshippers in the holy site.
The sit-inners called on the Jordanian government to “annul the Wadi Arba agreement between Jordan and Israel immediately expel its ambassador from Amman and summon the Jordanian ambassador from Tel Aviv.”
Jordanian MP Saleh al-Armouti called on the government to implement “practical measures” to counter Zionist aggressions at the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
“Jerusalemites are facing the Israeli occupation’s attacks all by themselves while the official Arab regimes remain tight-lipped” Armouti said in press remarks.
The sit-inners raised Palestinian and Jordanian flags and banners glorifying the resistance calling for a strong response to the Israeli Judaization threats against the holy al-Aqsa Mosque amid a heavy security presence in the vicinity of the embassy to prevent the crowds from reaching it.
