Under the Israeli blockade Palestinian fishermen are subjected to constant Israeli violations.
On a semi-daily basis Israeli navy attacks Palestinian fishermen off Gaza shore causing damage to their fishing boats and forcing them to flee the sea.
According to the Palestinian Fishing Committees in Gaza Strip Israeli navy has carried out about 304 shooting attacks against Gaza’s fishermen so far in 2022 destroying two boats and injuring 24 fishermen.
In addition Israeli forces have confiscated 19 boats and detained 49 fishermen since the start of 2022. Five of the fishermen are still held in Israeli prisons.
