Israeli gov’t closes off W. Bank and Gaza on final days of Sukkot

Sunday 16-October-2022

The Israeli occupation government has decided to completely close off the West Bank and the Gaza Strip on the final two days of the Sukkot holiday.

The Israeli occupation army released a statement on Sunday saying that a closure will be imposed on Palestinians in those territories starting from today at 1:00 pm and ending at dawn Tuesday.

Israel’s official broadcaster Kan said that Israel’s security and military forces were put on high alert across the West Bank and Jerusalem to deal with any Palestinian protests or operations during these two days.

The Israeli government and its army had already imposed such closure on the West Bank and Gaza on the first day of the week-long Sukkot holiday.

During the occasion’s intermediate days a partial closure was imposed on the occupied Palestinian territories including besieged Gaza.
