A group of masked armed men Saturday evening closed the largest street in Nablus city by barricades in protest at the arrest of a score of Palestinian youths by Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security apparatuses.
Eyewitnesses revealed that gunmen were deployed in al-Quds Street at both sides. They fired their guns in the air and barred passing by vehicles from crossing the road which is located to the south of the city. Drivers were forced to take alternative routes.
Such repeated protests reflect the state of security chaos in the West Bank as a result of the continued internal conflict within Fatah Movement that is controlling the PA in the West Bank.
