Palestinian prisoner in PA jail his mother on hunger strike

Sunday 6-November-2022

Palestinian prisoner Mohammad Daraghameh from Tubas in the West Bank on Sunday started his open-ended hunger strike to demand his release from the Palestinian Authority prisons.

Prisoner Daraghameh’s mother who suffers from various diseases abstained from food and medicine in solidarity with her son calling on concerned institutions to pressure the PA to release him.

19-year-old Daraghameh has been held in the Jericho prison for a week while his brother Ahmad was released a few days ago after he spent three months in PA prisons.

40 Palestinians including students activists and ex-prisoners are currently held in the PA prisons. Three detainees are still on hunger strike for the 50th days in protest at their detention.
