It has been 11 years since the Palestinian resistance recorded a remarkable victory releasing 1027 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
On October 18 2011 the first phase of the Wafa Al-Ahrar swap deal was implemented after an agreement was reached between the Palestinian resistance and Israel with Egyptian mediation.
450 prisoners and 27 women were freed in the first phase of the deal in exchange for Gilad Shalit an Israeli soldier who was captured by the Palestinian resistance near the Gaza border in 2006. Two months later the deal was completed with the release of 550 others.
