The Follow-up Committee of the National and Islamic Forces in the Gaza Strip affirmed that they “will not stand idly and will not leave our people in Jenin refugee camp alone in light of the Israeli continued crimes.”
The committee called in a statement issued Monday on Palestinian people at home and in the diaspora to launch next Friday’s protests and marches under the slogan of “Loyalty to Jenin”.
The Israeli newly-imposed economic siege on Jenin and Israeli occupation forces and settlers’ assaults will be confronted by a popular uprising and further resistance operations the statement read.
“The Israeli siege on West Bank’s northern cities and Israeli threats of a large-scale invasion reflect the Israeli state of hysteria and confusion.”
The Follow-up Committee called on Palestinians to stand ready in face of the Israeli threats to commit more crimes against the Palestinian people.
The committee further called for mass protests throughout the occupied West Bank in rejection of the Israeli siege on Gaza and Jenin and in commemoration of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day.
It also stressed the importance of intensifying Palestinian presence in al-Aqsa Mosque in face of the Jewish settlers’ threats of mass raids into the holy Islamic site.
The Follow-up Committee concluded by mourning the four Palestinians who were killed by IOF in one single day in the West Bank over the past few days.
