Khader Adnan 45 a father of 9 children died in Israeli prisons after 86 days of hunger strike.
Adnan began an open-ended hunger strike following his arrest by Israeli occupation forces earlier in February 2023 to protest against administrative detention.
According to figures by the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) Israel holds over 1000 Palestinian prisoners in administrative detention without charge or trial.
Khader Adnan who was held multiple times in administrative detention went through five hunger strikes in 2004 2012 2015 2018 2021 and 2023.
He spent in Israeli prisons a total of 8 years. During his last hunger strike Adnan suffered serious health complications. However Israeli occupation authorities refused to release him until he was found “unconscious in his cell” and was later proclaimed dead.
