The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) have identified the Palestinian prisoner who died a few days ago in the Israeli prison of Ramla as 40-year-old Izzuddin al-Banna, a resident of Gaza City.

Recently, prisoners in Nafha jail told the lawyer who visited them that Banna suffered a mobility impairment and used a wheelchair before he was kidnaped from his home by the Israeli occupation forces about two months ago during a military incursion in Gaza City.

The prisoners affirmed that Banna arrived at the Ramla prison in serious health condition, suffering from severe ulcers all over his body as a result of his exposure to excruciating torture at the hands of Israeli soldiers and interrogators.

They also said that prisoner Banna had died last Tuesday after he was transferred to the Ramla jail’s infirmary, but the prison administration did not officially announce his death.
